Philadelphia police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a suspect they say stole more than $100,000 worth of spinal implants from a car inside a parking lot in Center City last week.

According to a Philadelphia Police press release, around 4:30 a.m. on Feb. 19, an unknown man was caught on video breaking into a car inside a parking lot and stealing the medical implants.

Police described the suspect as a man, wearing a surgical mask and dark clothing.

The video shows the suspect carrying a bag of trash as he left the parking lot.

Officials added that if you see the suspect, do not approach him and contact 911 immediately.

According to the Philadelphia Police Department’s most recent crime statistics report, residential and commercial burglaries have increased nearly 2% since 2023.

Despite this latest car theft, the report shows that car theft is down nearly 34% from 2023. Overall, property crimes are down 16% from last year.
