A 17-year-old boy was stabbed Thursday in New York City’s Times Square after a fight involving dozens of people, including immigrants, according to reports.

The NYPD responded to West 42nd Street after a reported stabbing shortly after 5:30 p.m., the NYPD told Fox News Digital. The teen was found with a stab wound to his lower back and was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

A person of interest was detained by police. A police spokesman did not know the reason for the dispute that led to the stabbing.

“I saw someone running… and blood was coming out of his back, everywhere,” witness Bell Mohamed told the New York Post.

Authorities recovered a large knife at the scene. Police sources told the newspaper that a 22-year-old man was arrested. Six others, including three immigrant teenagers, were also detained, the outlet reported.

Authorities were searching for multiple other suspects. The teenage victim was chased by a group before being stabbed, the New York Post reported.

Times Square has been the scene of several violent crimes in recent weeks involving immigrants.

Several immigrants have been accused of attacking a pair of New York police officers, kicking and punching them after they were told to move down 42nd Street last month. Many of them were initially released without bail after their arrest, prompting harsh criticism of Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

In a separate case, a Venezuelan migrant teenager, Jesús Alejandro Rivas-Figureoa, 15, allegedly opened fire inside a sports clothing store in Times Square after being confronted by a security guard for shoplifting.

A tourist visiting Brazil was shot but survived. Rivas-Figureoa fled the scene and shot at police officers who were pursuing him on foot through the street and subway, police said.

He was eventually arrested in Yonkers, a suburb just north of the Bronx. He has been charged with attempted murder. Other immigrants, particularly Venezuelans, have been involved in moped robberies and pickpocketing, police said earlier this month.

Despite the presence of thousands of immigrants housed in shelters and hotels and the anger of New Yorkers, Mayor Eric Adams is preparing to spend $53 million on prepaid credit cards for illegal immigrants, while many residents struggle to keep up. float themselves and their families financially.
