CLEVELAND (WJW) – Three men were shot at a restaurant on Cleveland’s east side Saturday afternoon, the Cleveland Division of Police confirmed.

Police were called to the 12300 block of St. Clair Avenue around 4:50 pm for reports of a shooting at Omar’s Seafood & Grille.

Upon arrival, police found a man being held on the ground outside the restaurant by a passerby, according to a report. The man on the ground was identified as the shooter, police stated in the report.

The altercation reportedly began when the suspect arrived at the restaurant asking for a refund for food purchased the previous day. He first spoke to the owner’s son, who told him that he would not offer him a refund and told him to leave. The owner came out and told the man he could get new food, but he didn’t refund him anything. The man was once again told to leave, and the owner “guided” him into the lobby before “hitting” him near the door.

According to footage from the store, the suspect was seen punching the owner. That’s when the owner’s children came out into the lobby and reportedly began beating the man. This led the man to shoot the owner and his children, police said.

The three victims, ages 23 to 52, were taken to the hospital after they all appeared to be shot in the abdomen (and elsewhere), police reported.

The conditions of the victims have not been disclosed. The man suspected of shooting the other three was also taken to the hospital for his injuries and detained at the scene. The gun was also found at the scene, police said.
